An Effortless team

One hour. One rulebook. A team that builds on it.

Working with an Effortless team starts with a call. You describe one piece of your business; while we talk, it becomes a rulebook, and from that one file the database, the API, the editor, the documentation and an app are built. By the end of the hour you are clicking through it. After that, the people below build on the same foundation: our own professional services, and a growing list of vendors who provide Effortless services.

By the end of the first call

Here is what you have.

One prompt starts the build: make a rulebook and install the rulebook editor; list the personas who will use it, including an admin; write their user stories; write the routes for each role; write the app and start it as soon as it can be clicked. The half hour it runs is spent talking about your business, and it leaves all of this behind.

1A full database

Every table from the conversation. For every fact typed in, about two more are worked out by rules: counts, totals, statuses and flags that follow the data.

2A schema per role

Each persona gets its own schema in Postgres, with field-level and row-level permissions enforced by the database itself, so a volunteer sees their shifts and a coordinator sees them all. Every role and grant is written in the rulebook, which is the shape a SOC 2 audit asks for.

3The rulebook editor

A full admin interface that behaves like a spreadsheet: every table, every row, editable, with export to Excel and import back for round-trip editing.

4Documentation for every field

Plain-language rules for every value, from the deepest inference down to the ground truth it rests on, in eleven languages, all written from the same rulebook.

5A public API

The app is built against it, and so can anything else you connect: a report, a spreadsheet, another system.

6Every rule, compiled everywhere

The same rules generated into Postgres, SQL Server, Python, TypeScript, an Excel workbook and an answer key the tests check, none of them written by hand, so they cannot disagree.

7Every value explains itself

Hover any number or status in the app and it shows the rule that produced it, the facts it came from, and so on down to what someone typed in.

8The app itself

A page for every persona, a sign-in for each of them, every number carrying the rule that produced it. You are clicking through it before the hour is up.

The team

The people who build on it.

Every one of them works from the same rulebook, so a project can start with us and continue with any of them, or the other way round. The list grows; this is who is on it today.
