Foundations β One Rulebook, Every Substrate
Watch the whole series βΊThe origin set. Each film takes one idea β a computed name, transitive closure, a famous paradox, plain-English rules, a thin client β and shows it falling out of a single rulebook, in a real substrate, with real output. Standalone episodes rather than a sequence; watch any one on its own.
Row-Level Security β Who Sees Which Rows
Watch the whole series βΊA five-part course. Bob owns a bike shop; Gemma makes sure it is secure. By the end, every role has its own schema β views trimmed across (only the columns that role may see) and down (only the rows they are allowed) β enforced by the database itself, generated from one rulebook, on more than one engine, editable in a form.
Effortless Demos
Watch the whole series βΊA series of effortless demos, showing examples of effortless rulesbooks in the wild.
The Effortless Experience
Watch the whole series βΊWhy an Effortless project behaves fundamentally differently from a traditional one: the thinking goes into one rulebook instead of scattering across conversations, backend code, API/security code, frontend code, and SQL. Part 1 shows everything you get for free before an LLM writes a line of app code. Part 2 shows the only tokens left to spend, and why the payoff compounds forever instead of decaying into tech debt. A 2-3 minute teaser (built last, once Parts 1-2 prove the beats out) compresses both into an investor-ready cut.
RuleSpeak β Rules People Can Read
Watch the whole series βΊA ten-part series in two arcs. Arc I (1-5) teaches the RuleSpeak methodology (Ronald G. Ross, Business Rule Solutions) from its own three primers: what a rule is (it removes a degree of freedom), the five sentence forms, the guidelines and the real misreadings behind them, tabulation with 'the following', and naming derived results. The story comes from the documents; the RuleSpeak rulebook app appears only as live evidence that the discipline can run. Arc II (6-10) shows each concept lived, as the user experience of an imagined RuleSpeak website powered by that same rulebook: a trainee's day one on the Learn path, an author in the workbench watching scores move as they type, a reviewer whose objections arrive as citations with scars attached, an analyst turning an and/or paragraph into the primer's own table, and a steward changing one definition and watching every citation follow. The finale pulls back: the whole site is one rulebook, written in the discipline it teaches.
Ask Claude β The Same Project, No Command Line
Watch the whole series βΊEverything the CLI Tour builds by typing, built by asking instead. Same rulebook, same tools, same generated files, for the person who freezes when somebody says 'open a terminal'. Not vibe coding: the assistant only ever touches one short file you can read, and everything else is generated from it.
The Live Rulebook
Watch the whole series βΊFilms about the rulebook card on effortlessapi.com's landing page: a real, very small Effortless project running in the browser. Each cut plays with the same card at a different depth. The Vibe cut shows only what a business owner or vibe coder sees; later cuts open the Developer and Enterprise levels.
